Erbil.. Launch of the national campaign to vaccinate children against measles

On Tuesday, April 16, 2024, Erbil Governor Omed Khoshnaw inaugurated the commencement of the national campaign to vaccinate children against measles in Erbil Governorate. The launch took place at Khama School in Shaqlawah district. The campaign, scheduled to run for 10 days, targets the vaccination of over 114,000 children across 326 primary schools and kindergartens in Erbil Governorate.
 

The Governor of Erbil emphasized in his speech that this campaign represents a comprehensive national effort aimed at safeguarding future generations from infectious diseases. He urged parents to collaborate with the Ministry of Health teams and school administrations to ensure the vaccination of their children.
 

The campaign, launched by the Kurdistan Regional Government in collaboration with the Iraqi Ministry of Health, the World Health Organization and UNICEF, aims to strengthen children’s immunity against measles, and to protect children from the infectious diseases.
