Today, Sunday, February 11, 2024, Erbil Governor Omed Khoshnaw welcomed James Goldman, the British Consul General in Erbil, at Erbil Citadel.
 

During a gathering at Machko Cultural Cafe, the Governor of Erbil extended congratulations on his appointment and conveyed support for the newly appointed British Consul General in Erbil, expressing wishes for success.
 

The Governor commended the British Consulate and Embassy's efforts in strengthening ties with the Kurdistan Region and anticipated the consul general's role in enhancing the historical relations between the Kurdistan Region and the UK. Following that, the Governor and the British Consul General explored various cultural and historical landmarks in the Qaysari Bazaar.
 

The British Consul General in Erbil conveyed his delight at the prevailing peace, security, and freedom in the capital of the Kurdistan Regional Government. As an expression of admiration for the bravery of the Peshmerga and his affection for Kurdistan, he personally sewed Kurdish clothes for Newroz as a gesture of congratulations to the citizens of the region.
 

The Erbil Governor emphasized that Erbil, as the capital of the Kurdistan Region, is open and welcoming to all. He expressed the desire to host diplomatic envoys and representatives of countries, encouraging them to immerse themselves in the vibrant culture and rich history of Erbil, fostering a close connection with its people.
