Diyarbakir.. Governor of Erbil visits the Equality and Peoples' Democracy Party DEM PARTI

During his visit to Diyarbakir on Thursday, May 2, 2024, the Governor of Erbil, Omed Khoshnaw, and his delegation paid a visit to the branch of the Equality and Peoples’ Democracy Party (DEM PARTI). They were welcomed by Bnar Dekin and Abbas Shaheen, who serve as co-chairs of the party branch in Diyarbakir, along with Badran Astok, a Member of Parliament representing the party.
 

At the meeting, the Governor of Erbil extended congratulations to the "DEM PARTI" party candidates for their success in the recent municipal elections. He underscored President Barzani's consistent emphasis on the peace process and the importance of ongoing discussions and dialogue. Emphasizing the need to reignite the peace process, he stressed that now is the opportune moment to do so. Resolving the Kurdish issue in Turkey through peaceful dialogue is paramount, as war does not offer a solution. He emphasized the significance of seizing any opportunity for peace in Turkey.
 

The Governor of Erbil affirmed that the Kurdistan Regional Government is committed to reinitiating the peace process in Turkey and will take all necessary steps toward that end. He expressed hope that all political parties would play a part in achieving a peaceful resolution, advocating for dialogue and mutual understanding to secure the rights of the Kurdish people.
 

For their part, the co-chairs of the Diyarbakir branch of the Equality and Peoples' Democracy Party (DEM PARTI) expressed their happiness with his visit and stressed the need to strengthen and develop relations. They endorsed the perspective of the Governor of Erbil and expressed gratitude to President Barzani for his endeavors towards peace. Emphasizing that peace benefits all communities in Turkey, they reiterated the Kurdish people's longing for peace and a peaceful resolution.
