74th Anniversary of European Union establishment Celebrated in Erbil
On the evening of May 9, 2024, Erbil Governor Omed Khoshnaw and Safeen Dizayee, Head of the Foreign Relations department of the Kurdistan Regional Government, attended the 74th anniversary celebration of the European Union held at the French Consulate, alongside Yan Braem, Consul General of France in Erbil.
In 1950, European countries were still under the influence of war, Robert Schumann, the French Foreign Minister, orchestrated a remarkable economic and military alliance between Germany and France. Initially comprising six nations (Belgium, Germany, France, Italy, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands), the union eventually expanded to include 21 additional countries.
