The Governor of Erbil receives French photographer and journalist Francois Gravie Lova
Today, Tuesday, May 16, 2023. Erbil Governor Omed Khoshnaw received French photographer and journalist Francois Gravie Lova at the governor's office.
During the meeting, the governor expressed his admiration and gratitude to him for his service to the Kurds as a journalist, photographer, and documentary filmmaker, as well as for conveying the Kurdish voice to the world and playing a role in recording the Kurdish people's history, he reaffirmed his full support and cooperation for his work.
In response, French photographer and journalist Francois Gravie Lova, a lifelong supporter of Kurds, thanked the governor for his hospitality and presented him with a book containing an album of images from the Kurdish resistance led by the late Barzani.
In the early 1960s, French photographer and journalist Francois Gravie Lova worked for various well-known television stations and was the private photographer of former French President General De Gaulle. He visited Kurdistan in 1962 and met the late Barzani. During his time in Kurdistan, he captured over 1,000 images of the late Barzani, the Kurdistan Revolution, Kurdish personalities, and Kurdish nature, as well as filming a short documentary.
