Erbil Governor Receives President of Kurdistan-Greece Friendship Association


Today, Tuesday, May 27, 2025, Omed Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil, received Aftimos Navridis, President of the Kurdistan-Greece Friendship Association, Dr. Sarbast Zakhoi, Assistant President, and an accompanying delegation at the Governorate Office.
 

The Erbil Governor, during the meeting, welcomed the delegation and praised the association for strengthening the relationship between the peoples of Kurdistan and Greece in cultural, intellectual, scientific, and social areas, wishing them success and continuity. He hoped they would continue their civil, cultural, and social projects to build and enhance relations, reiterating his full support and cooperation for them.

Furthermore, the Governor of Erbil described the opening of a direct Athens-Erbil airline route as an important step for the advancement of trade and tourism movement between the Kurdistan Region and Greece, and said, "Although a number of Greek companies operate in the Kurdistan Region, the door of the capital Erbil is open to all companies, businessmen, and individuals who wish to invest in the capital of the Kurdistan Region. We will provide them with all available facilities and assistance according to the applicable laws and regulations."

The President and Assistant of the Kurdistan-Greece Friendship Association, from their side, highly thanked the Governor of Erbil for the welcome. They also appreciated his cooperation and support for their association and conveyed their pleasure regarding their visit to the capital Erbil and the stability, peace, and development present in the city.
